Depending on the type of band/musician/vocalist you have hired, the style may vary. You may also discuss your preferences with our lead musician who is Laurent Fourgo.

DO I NEED TO PICK EVERY SONG FOR THEM TO PLAY?
Typically, we will have a collection of music from which we select songs to play. We can share this playlist with you if you’d like to have more involvement in the process. In the event that you have a specific request that we may not be familiar with, we ask that you provide the sheet music for us. We can help you source the sheet music if necessary.

WILL THE BAND LEARN A SPECIFIC SONG TO BE PLAYED AT OUR WEDDING?
We will learn one special song for free so if you have a first dance or a song to the end the night on, just let us know a few months before the event.

CAN WE CHOOSE THE SET LIST?
You're welcome to send over a list of your favorite songs from our repertoire and the band will try to include these in their set. Bear in mind that we will alter our set to suit the audience reaction.

CAN YOU PROVIDE EMCEEING AND/OR ACT AS THE MASTER OF CEREMONIES?
Yes, we act as the master of ceremonies, making all necessary announcements as well as emceeing and facilitating all of your events including toasts.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE THEM TO SET UP?
We usually need to arrive approximately one hour in advance to set up and run through sound checks. The exception is with our larger band (VJO & VJO Big Band, so six pieces and up). We may arrive up to three hours early due to our size and the amount of equipment we will have.

WHAT IF OUR CEREMONY IS OUTDOORS?
We need to have our instruments not be exposed to the elements, including direct sunlight, as exposure can be incredibly damaging to our equipment. Please provide a shaded area from which our musicians can play. If you are unable to do so, please discuss alternate options with our band manager.

WHAT DO YOU TYPICALLY WEAR FOR WEDDINGS?
We dress formally or casually as requested. Some couples request formal wear, and other couples request casual wear, so we are flexible in this regard.

DO THE MUSICIANS TAKE BREAKS?
Depending on how long you have reserved for playing time, our musicians may take breaks. Typically, we allow for one 10-minute break per hour.

DOES THE BAND PROVIDE RECORDED MUSIC BETWEEN AND BEFORE SETS?
Yes, we are happy to provide music via an iPod/iPad between sets, this is usually a pre-mixed playlist. If you have particular songs in mind, you're also welcome to create your own playlists which can be played through the band's PA system.

HOW DO I CONFIRM A BOOKING?
If you would like to book us, we will need your full address and contact details along with the venue address. We will then send over a contract with full terms and conditions included. This will then need to be signed and returned to confirm the booking. A deposit of 50% will be also be required, this is payable by check or Venmo/Paypal. An invoice with payment details will be included with the contract.

WILL THE BAND REQUIRE REFRESHMENTS AND DINNERS?
We request that the band is provided with free soft drinks throughout their stay at the venue and a meal, usually after we've set up. Most bandmates will leave for the event mid-afternoon and will often arrive home late at night so a hot meal is always greatly appreciated.
